“Eastern” Sugar Maple for carved top electric guitar. This is THE top wood used in the ’59 Les Paul guitars. All the wood for our carved maple tops we cut from logs we obtain locally in the Allegheny Mountains of West Virginia and Virginia. This piece is sugar maple (Acer saccharum). This is a 2-piece top – faces are parallel, like a board. Item: LP119
