Pre-Carved F5 Mandolin Top/Back/Side Kit (M1KIT07)

Pre-carved F5 mandolin “kit”. Includes a Red “Adirondack” Spruce top, Red maple back (1 piece) with matching sides, Red Maple Neck Block and Red Spruce Bass Bar.

Note: F5 Carving is based on Gibson F5 “Lloyd Loar” measurements.  Carved Top and Back are still connected to the surrounding blank and can easily be “detached” using band saw, coping saw, etc.  Profiling around scroll area is also un-finished.  The outsides of the plates need only final scraping or sanding. Inside is uncarved to allow builder to complete hand graduation/tap tuning.

We harvest this spruce and maple from selected trees locally in West Virginia. (Ref: M1KIT07).  This wood was cut in 2017.
